Roscoe C. Lacy began selling Model T Fords on Main Street in Catskill, New York in 1914. He had to convince prospective buyers that an automobile was faster, safer, more dependable and more economical than a horse.
With a sound foundation, Calvin Lacy (at the young age of 18) took over the Catskill Ford agency in 1931 after the death of his father. By 1961, the business had expanded such that Calvin purchased a tract of land on Maple Avenue and erected the largest showroom and best equipped service garage in the area. On January 1, 1966, Catskill Ford became R.C. Lacy, Inc. with Calvin and his two sons, Roscoe "Rock" and Calvin as principals.
Today, they are joined by their sons, Danny, Jimmy and Devin who together manage and oversee the daily operations of what is now known as: RC Lacy Ford Lincoln Mercury Subaru. Dan, Jim and Devin together with a family of individual automotive professionals all work toward a common goal of customer satisfaction treating each customer as though they are family.
